We want to give our children the best. Teaching them skills at an early age will give them an advantage in life. They can learn many things in their toddler years, from music, visual arts, literature, and languages.
Children can become bilingual at an early age if given the opportunity because they do not over complicate the learning process. We as adults already have some inhibitions in learning a new language. Children who learn to speak Spanish everyday fluently will benefit on a personal level as well, they will be able to watch Spanish language films and read Spanish literature without losing a great deal of the original meaning due to poor translation.
There are Spanish language softwares and Spanish courses online and they are an excellent way to teach our kids speak Spanish fluently. They combine interactive lessons, audio lessons, games and exercises, which improves learning by not only making it exciting and stimulating, but also makes it more effective as research has shown that learning is most effective when multiple methods of studying are used.
Online Spanish programs give them more freedom and fun with their Spanish lessons. Some Spanish online programs even have various entertaining and intellectual games while learning, which is actually better than being in a typical classroom.
Even if they are learning Spanish online, let your kids use their Spanish to order their paella at your local Spanish restaurant (the people in the restaurant will be happy to correct your kids!), and meet the Spanish speaking neighbors that you most likely have in your street.
Tell them to listen to music in their new acquired language. When they hear a new word, tell them to write it down with the definition in English and in their new language. Watching a Spanish film while reading the subtitles will give them clues to simple words, greetings and pronunciation.
Studies have indicated that children, who know a second language, actually perform better at school. They are usually more adept at reading, problem solving and creativity.
With your kids learning Spanish, there is a better future for them, teach them more things in life; there are many wonderful things and ideas to explore. Help them while they are still young.
